Family
Day Care Start Up Payment -
(Welfare
to Work Participation)
Family Day Care Start Up Payments are
intended to assist individuals with Welfare to Work
participation requirements. Individuals will be able to
contribute to the workforce by becoming a Family Day Care
carer. The payment aims to encourage people to consider
Family Day Care as a career option and to assist with some
of the initial set up costs involved in establishing a
Family Day Care business.
The Family Day Care Start Up Payment is only
for potential or new careproviders who began providing care
after 1st April 2006 that meet the following eligibility
criteria:
Priority 1 – Applicant is in one of the
Welfare to Work target groups (an income support customer
with work participation requirements).
Priority 2 – Applicant intends to operate a
Family Day Care service in an identified Welfare to Work
area (an identified area with a high number of residents who
are an income support customer with work participation
requirements).
Priority 3
– All other eligible applicants.
