Darwin Family Day Care believes that children have the right to be cared for in a warm, safe and stimulating environment that is responsive to their individual needs and enhances their dignity and well being.

We acknowledge the values of working in cooperation with parents and at all times will respect their values and beliefs in relation to their child.

 Darwin Family Day Care believes all people have the right to access quality childcare regardless of their income, cultural background or disability.

 Programs offered to children in Darwin Family Day Care will be in accordance with current early childhood practice and will enhance their total development.

 The quality care and the nature of the environment shall ensure the health and well being of the child is nurtured and protected.

 Children will be provided with opportunities for learning through play and active exploration of the environment and each child's contribution will be valued.

 Children will experience an environment in which they are affirmed as individuals and discover different ways to be creative and express themselves.

 Darwin Family Day Care will act as an advocate for children in relation to child care issues.

 The Coordination Unit staff will recruit carers who have the requisite skills, knowledge and qualities for the provision of quality childcare.
